Teresa Bristol

With a concentration in pediatric treatments as well as working with patients with neurological and orthopedic issues, Teresa Bristol opened Physical Therapy Works, an independent practice now located in Atlanta, in 2014 with a focus on holistic patient health. Teresa uses her knowledge of the human body to reduce impairments, restore function and improve the quality of life of others.

After graduating with honors with a degree in Physical Therapy from Florida A&M University, Teresa launched her career in Georgia at the Palmyra Regional Medical Center and has since worked in a variety of settings with individuals of all ages. In addition to Physical Therapy Works, Teresa was an adjunct professor at her alma mater, where she taught Neurology and Orthopedic Physical Therapy. Her passion for education and desire to help others prompted Teresa to fulfill her lifelong goal of

obtaining a doctorate in Philosophy in Physical Therapy at Nova Southeastern University where she worked on her dissertation and research on low back pain. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2018.

Teresa connects with a variety of organizations to increase community awareness about health, wellness and fitness. She provided court-side treatment for Albany Technical College’s basketball team and delivered humanitarian aid to natives of Port de Paix, Haiti with a multi-disciplinarian health care team. Based on her service and volunteerism, Teresa has been recognized with Outstanding Service Award from Albany Technical College, a Humanitarian Service Medal following Hurricane Andrew in Florida as well as the Army Achievement Medal and Army Good Conduct Medal, among many other recognitions.

In addition, Teresa has served as a clinical instructor and supervisor for physical therapy and physical therapy assistant students and volunteers. Teresa has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Physical Therapy Association of Georgia (PTAG), and the Orthopedic, Neurological and Pediatric sections
