Jess Lore'al recently received her Bachelor of Science and is currently getting her Master of Public Administration. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Jess is a country girl at heart who had big dreams of writing many books one day. She is a mother of two (a girl named Emersyn and a boy named Jasiah), a former military spouse, and former Music Entertainment Editor and Chief for a local Houston magazine. Jess started writing at a young age when she realized that she had a hard time truly expressing herself verbally. Dealing with mental health, being a woman, African American, and also gay has helped mold her into the poet she is today.
