Denice Garcia Benders, better known as Lady D, is a single mother of two beautiful children. She is also disabled, but that doesn't stop her from going after what she wants.

Denice has been writing since she was 10 years old. Writing is her passion. Her mother took her to see Nikki Giovanni, Alice Walker, and Maya Angelou, three of her favorite authors.  She’s had the privilege of seeing Nikki G several times, and she is one of her favorite authors of all time. These ladies have been a powerful influence in her pursuit of a writing career.

Denice’s mother also encouraged her to write and never give up. Her dream is to open the door for deaf and blind individuals.  She would like to help them realize that dreams can come true and that their goals are not unreachable.
